Kent Ward

Computer Geek Extraordinaire

He started his IT career as the neighborhood geek and go to person for local small businesses using TRS-80 computers back in 1984 and has in one form or another been assisting small and microbusinesses with their technology issues ever since. Kent has worked at NASA via Lockheed in the Artificial Intelligence division; he spent his time programming Mars bound robots in the late 80’s and early 90’s. He has also worked as a Network administrator for Diversified Plastics. In an effort to help individuals, Kent taught Computer Hardware, Networking and Security classes at Ozarks Technical Community College for over 5 years. Kent owns Ward Computers. which has provided Computer, Domain, Network and Cyber Security services for small and micro business in the Ozarks since 2003. Kent is the author of “The Novice Guide to Optimizing and Tweaking Every PC”. He has given many lectures and Q&A events at user groups covering both Windows and Linux issues and has been interviewed by KOLR 10 and various trade magazines for his various expertise. Kent created the web site “TheWeeklyGeek.com”, a site for novice and intermediate computer users who just need information about computers and has his articles published in publications across the globe. He was a regular technology Q and A writer for the “Christian County News Journal” and “Prime Time News” and writer for several other papers and journals such as “CompuNotes.com”. Kent is a CompTIA A+ certified technician and a Certified SonicWall Security Administrator.

My passion for technology led me to further specialize, eventually emerging as an Infrastructure Engineer. Driven by a commitment to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving tech landscape, I transitioned into the realm of Cyber Security. My expertise encompasses a spectrum of areas, including Cyber Security, Penetration Testing, Vulnerability Management, and System Architecture. I've had the privilege of contributing my skills to multiple Fortune 500 companies, leaving a mark in the cybersecurity domain. To validate my proficiency, I hold certifications from reputable institutions such as GIAC, EC Council, CompTIA (A+, Net+, Sec+, PenTest+), Microsoft MCSA, and various vendor-specific certifications. These certifications reflect my dedication to maintaining the highest standards in the dynamic field of cybersecurity. With a wealth of experience and a commitment to continuous learning, I am poised to tackle the challenges of the digital landscape, ensuring robust security measures in an ever-changing technological environment.days
